Today we made attempt #2 on benchmarks 26, and 50-59. One more opportunity in class next Thursday/Friday. Our final grade reports were also collected today.
I’ve created a Google Doc with all the final exam topics so you know what to study, as well as what benchmark and a link to a short video example. How geeky cool am I? This will also be VERY helpful for our practice final, which we will take Tuesday/Wednesday of next week. I will also open up all our moodle tests and benchmarks after the deadline so you can take them for extra practice. And I am still working on our last screencasts and benchmark practice for Moodle.
This practice final that we are taking next week will replace your lowest test score, so study hard!

Personal Reflection- I’ve used a blog for several years to keep students informed about what went on in class. It wasn’t until this year when I started asking the Posting for Points question. Has posting comments on the blog increased your understanding of Geometry? Why?

Posting for points has increased my understanding for geometry because when I answer a comment I read through the blog thoroughly and thered so much information about the topics we’ve covered and I can refer back to it whenever I need to.

yea it helps me by leting me know ahead of time when the assignments are due. And it boots my grade a little.

I think posting comments for points helps because you can look at a wide variety of examples on peoples comments and people are teaching you through there own way sometimes so if it isn’t understandable when you explain we can come about it a different way.

i think poasting for points gives me an understanding of geometry. It helps because you have a variety of examples of whatever it is of peoples helping you teaching it to you. it also lets you know when the assignments are do and if you missed it tell you what we did.

Yes the blog has helped me alot. I can always come and see when are things due and whats comming up. Anwsering questions on the blog helps me understand the topic more, even if I got the question wrong. I learn from the other blog posts. So yes once again the blog is very helpful without it or moodle I would be lost.

Yea, I think that it has helped me in a lot of different ways. Like when you give us a blog question that makes you us the information that you tough us that day. I think that is one of the ways that the blog posting have helped everyone!! Well I have to go study Mr. F, you know for that practice final!! Hope that i do well on it!

I believe that posting comments on the blog has increased my understanding of geometry, but only to a certain degree. Answering questions helps me to review the information so it stays in my mind better. I believe though that doing the moodle practice bench marks has helped me the greatest.

Posting comments is such a good thing because its easy points and I need all the point I can get, and sometimes if I dont understand something I visit the blog to look at other peoples examples to help me understand something better. Posting comments on the blog is very helpful.

The blog did help me understand the topics that were diffucult. Asking for examples in the Posting for Points Question also helped provide a better comprehension for certain topics.

it actually has helped me because sometimes you ask what is the formula for this problem or what does it mean and it helps me remember it and plus it helps me get a better grade.

Yes the blog posting has helped my understanding of Geometry. It forces me to pull out my notes to answer the blog questions. Actually having to type it out helps me, and it’s more practice. I also get to see other examples and answers from other students which helps me as well.

The blog posts has helped me understand geometry. It helps me to know what I need to know for the upcoming benchmarks. It reminds me to do my homework, get my grade report in, and to study. If I’m absent and needed the notes, I can always rely on the blog to have the notes posted. All I have to do is print! Posting blog comments improves my grade too! Once I reached the amount of points I needed, the blog posting becomes extra credit!

Yes it has. It showed me how to look for recesorces. The blog has links that i could look on to get help with. Then it gets me to get my grade up, then it make me feel like well if im here might as well look at the link to understand what im trying to explain.

Posting has not just helped me achive a greater understanding of everything that we go over, talk about, or do in class; posing has also been a fantastic way, for the people willing to put in the effort, to increase their grade. By posting a comment, it not only shows that you understand the topic from that day,but also posting is also a great way to satsifiy the cross-acidemics that the state of
California wants in every class.
I think that posting comments is a great way to renforce what we learned in class as well as a way to combined the two subjects that are, in the state’s eyes, the most important subjects.
So thank you for giving us the ablity to recive extra crdit in your class, making it so easy to use, and giving us everything we need to succed in your class.

Ya it has. Mostly in the sense that it would be something i would have on my mind because of the required posting comments. By that i would remember do do other geomtry things just because i would be reminded in a general sense.

Yes! Posting for points has helped me alot with geometry, whenever I answer one of your questions I have to go back and look at my notes that I took that are envolved with the question. So by me looking back at my notes I’m relooking over them which helps me understand them better.Also when you ask us to do or make an equation I am re-practicing my geometry skills.By the way thank you for re-opening all of our tests on Moodle and for all the other resources. It helps alot. Now all I have to do is get a higher grade on my practice final then some of my other tests and my grade will raise

i think so because it helps you think about things in different ways. you have your opinion and then when you get another persons opinion then it helps you more when your doing homework or something.

Posting comments on the blog has increased my understanding of geometry. It has helped because, some questions require us to write an example and solve it. By doing this we learn how to do a problem by ourselves, plus if we did the problem wrong you would comment on it.

Yes it has. I mean you tell us to give you problems to get points, and you have to get it right to get all of the points. so it basically makes us better with promblems, and for the ones that don’t post well you know.

Yes, the blog posting has heled me understand everything more then i would ever understand it. Plus it gives people more points to be able to pass the class. The blog helps us get the work from what we do in class if we missed it just in case. You should keep doing it because then people have more of a chance to pass the class.

I think that the blog helped me this year because the posting for points questions made me think and remember the things we learned in class. It was kind of like a review of the class and made the information stick into my head.

I think that the blog helped us a lot. The posting question made us think thoroughly and it measures our understanding in geometry. It aslo helped me because, you can see what everybody elses thoughts.
