What a day! Tons of instruction today. 6 benchmarks total!
We started with a warm-up of surface area of prisms and checked HW #72 from yesterday. There was a poor homework return, so make sure you get this assignment done before the benchmarks on Monday!
We then started total surface area of a pyramid and cone. This is very similar to the TSA of a prism, except that we only have 1 base and the lateral sides are triangles, so the formula is:
With the little bit of time we had left, we also looked at Volume of prisms and cylinders. The Volume formula for a prism or cylinder is:
Where B is the Base area and h is the prism height.
There was also an assignment on volume, HW #74 12.4A WS.

First, DID YOU TAKE YOUR CIRCLES UNIT TEST???
Then, I am starting to prepare my review for the semester. Where have you been struggling or are just not clear yet? The topics are Similarity, Trigonometry, Polygons, Circles, and 3-D solids. Be specific (i.e. Which benchmark or standard? Is there a specific problem?)

No i havent taken the circles test because im still studying i might take it today or tomarow.Well im a little hazy on circles maybe thats why im not getting 3-D solids that well.Its just confusing on all the different types, thats what messes me up.like on bm45-46.i can learn one part on how to do it but then theres other parts and i get confused.

Yes, I took the circles test and I didnt do so good. I dont get benchmark 25 that well the 36-60-90 and 45-45-90 triangles there tough for me. I also dont get the proofs very well there hard.

Yes, I took the test on monday. I made a couple small errors so i got a lower score than I wanted. I dont really know what BM Im struggling at but once and a while I miss up on some Trig.

No I havent taken the circles unit test, because i am not sure if i am ready for it yet. But i will take some time this week. Im struggling in circles and 3-D solids. Because they are really hard and i need more practice. Trigonometry is also hard for me.

No, I havn’t i’m thinking about doing thursday so I have time to study and do home work from other classes but yea i seem to do better on tests late at nite lol so thursday nite for me. the only thing I;m really having a promblem with is the 3D stuff i’m not really sure hoe to do9 it but i’m getting the hang of it I Guess

I have taken the circles test! I thought I didnt do very good on. I took the practice benchmarks before i took it too!!!! It was hard!

he only stuff I’ve had a problem with this semester is proofs. I just can’t seem to understand anything about them.

I have not taken the circles test yet. Good thing you posted something about it because I forgot. I have been having trouble with proofs, thats hard for everyone i think but the stuff we just learned is kind of difficult too.

i took the test today. and the one thing that i found to be the hardest was the circles i just keep on messing them up because of all of the diffrent things you can do with them

yea ive takin the circle test. I didnt do so well. The only benchmark that im having trouble with is area of a plygon i can never rember the formula.

I took the test yesterday and I got an 88% on it. I think that I did really well I studied very well and was prepared. I am struggling with the 3-D solids a little bit.

yes i have taken the circles test, i took it on saturday. the areas that seem to still be a strugle for me at least are 3-D solids.
i undersatnd the 3-d solid concept; I don’t fully understand the pyirmids and cones.

Yes i have taken the circle’s test…about an hour ago I took it. Let’s just say it’s my best grade…. I’m haveing trouble on how to find the inscribed andgle stuff like 10.3 also the stuff where you have to find the shaded area. That’s a little tough for me. And of course proofs.

I took the circles test, and I did not do well. I only missed a couple of questions and some I got half credit, why did I get a low score? Circles then must be were I am struggling in.

no i havn’t taken it yet but im planning on taking it on friday at 10!! LOL Im lost with all ten of these benchmark. So im pretty much screwed on monday.

No I havent taken the test yet.Having to take it on my own time makes me lazy and i feel like not doing it but ill get to it ofcourse. And the benchmarks that i need help with are the special triangle ones and the proofs.

First I have not taken the test on Moodle and the hardest things that I struggle with are the inscribed angles. Also tangent theorems, it’s all just remembering all of the formulas and the little things. I think I am doing well in the total surface area and some of the volumes.

yes i took the circles test. there were alot of things on there that i wasnt prepared for and i didnt do well at all unfortunatly. i studied only on the review you gave us with the 12 circled on them. im having a hard time remember which formulas to use for the trapazoids and parrallelograms like the a-1/2 (b1+b2)h because i know thats a formula but i have no idea what its for!

I took the circles test. I had a problem with having to visualize what the problem was saying. I also dont understand the pyramid solids. Which i think is BM#46

i havent taked the test yet. im getting ready to take the practice benchmarks first. I think the area i need to review most is polygons. those are the benchmarks i failed.

I took my Circle Unit Test already, and actually did well on it. The benchmarks/standards that i am confused on most are the proving triagles similiar, and similar triagles. I get the first few steps, but after that i just get confused.

Yeah I just took the test right now I didn’t do so good on it.LIke what we are learning we use sorta the same formula for each problem but sometimes I do the work and sometimes I get it right and at times I get it wrong I think I am doing something wrong on it. I am going to have to study for the benchmarks.

yea i just took the test like 20 mins. ago and i got a B on it, i thought i did very well and i am pretty well rounded in most of wat we are doing in class all i really need to do is remeber some of the formulas which isnt very hard.

yes i took the test and basically i am having trouble with the volume section the on we are going through right now and i also had truoble with the proofs those are so complicated for me that i dont even try to retake it.

My favortie is the volume because it is way easier and if you know how to do the TSA all the work is right there already. My least favorite is the TSA

yes i took the test on thursday i think. it was probably the hardest test because i got a B+ on it and not an A. the thing i am still struggling in is Volume and surface area which makes sense because it was the last thing we covered

yes i took my unit test last week i thought it was pretty hard. I think you will have to go over it agian before the final. I had trouble on the volume part i hope you will go over it.

Yes, I took the circle unit test last week. I think that, sometimes I’m having trouble at 3-D solids. I think that my problem is that, there’s kind of a lot of formula that it messes me up sometimes, but the rest are easy.

well, i have always had a problem with similarity. that subject was really hard for me. i was having problems with 3-D solids but i dont think so anymore. it is pretty easy once you sit down and really think about it.

I did take the circles test, but it wasn’t all on circles. The benchmark that was the hardest was the similarity theorem, for me at least.

I took the circles test and did okay on it.
The more recent bm we took are hard for me like the cones and pyramid ones. I just can’t seem to memorize all the formulas. The hw doesn’t help because I can’t do it.

Personally the standards that i am having problems with is the similarity standards. The benchmarks that i am having the most difficult on is benchmark #27, #28, and #32.
