Sorry I’m getting this posted so late. Long evening.
Today, we had what could possibly be our last set of notes for the year as well as our possibly our last homework assignment for the year. Try to hold back the tears.
We started with copying a triangle by SSS with our compass then went right into Similar Triangles. Here are the notes and the assignment was #37. As always, a separate piece of paper and draw ALL pictures.
Coming up:
Last day for Benchmarks is Thursday. I will be in my room at lunch and after school for all you procrastinators who need to make up those benchmarks. 1.4% increase in your overall grade for each benchmark passed.
Practice Final on Thursday/Friday Block
Posting for Points Question:
Briefly summarize similar triangles. How do you know two triangles are similar? How do you solve for missing parts of similar triangles?

I always forget that the small triangle isnt the midmegment but a differnt triangle that is just parralle. i also have to rememder to cross multiply. Still Im sad that this could be the last assignment of the year :

Similiar Triangles are an AA ~ Triangle. Its an Angle-Angle Smiliarity but to be correct its an Angle-Angle-Angle Similarity Triangle.
Two triangles are similar when and if 2 triangles have 2 pairs of congruent angles.
We solve for missing parts of similar triangles by the Statement of Proportionality.

i like taking notes so im not happy it the last of them for the year and i dont do good with homwork because i always forget to do it so im happy that no more for the year of 2006
Similare triangles are ANGLE-ANGLE SIMILARITY.(AA~) Two triangles are similar when and if two triangles have two pairs of congruent angles.to solve the problem you need the
similarty statment.
for example angle-abc~angle-dec.
Also the statement of proportionality AB/DE=BC/EC=AC/DC
only use two statement of proportionality when solving for missing side.

no more notes yA!!
But today I learnrd that:
*AA- Abgle Angle similarity is two triangles that are similar if they have two pairs of congruent angles.
*When we solve for a missing side we use only two proportions _=_
* Notes were easy and the assignment was easy too.

okay Fjelstrom i just want you to know that i can hardly read this font…
but anyway, similar triangles are triangles that have congruent angles a proportional sides.
you know two triangles are similar if they have two pairs of congruent angles.
solve for missing parts by making a proportionality statement and cross multiplying.
YAY fun stuff man.

Similar Triangles are Angle-Angle Similarity. To tell that the triangles are similar they have 2 pairs of congruent angles. To solve for the missing parts of a similar triangle you use similarity statement and statement of proportionality.

AA~ triangles
Angle-Angle-similarity
Two triangles have to have 2 pairs of congruent angles
Then we solve for the missing peice of the triangle
use similarty statement and the proportionality

Similar(~) triangles have congruent angles and proportional sides. Two angles are similar if they have 2 pairs of congruent angles. When solving for a missing side, you will only use 2 proportions _____=_____.
December 6, 2006 at 7:58 pm
Triangles are similar when they have congruent angles and porportional sides. Triangles are similar when they have two pairs of congruent angles. It is an angle, angle similarity.
December 6, 2006 at 9:21 pm
similar triangles have congruent ab=ngles and proportional sides
AA: angle angle similarity
two triangles are congruent if they have two pairs of congruent angles
December 6, 2006 at 11:01 pm
similar triangles are proportional and have congruent angles it is AA~ you only need two angles because the third angles are equal if two are, to find answer use _____ = _____
December 6, 2006 at 11:19 pm
Similar triangles have congruent angles and proportional sides. Two triangles are similar if they have 2 pairs of congruent angles. You solve the missing parts of a similar triangle by using the Statement of Proportionality.
I still don’t quite understand how to solve for missing sides yet.

Similar Triangles are Angle-Angle Similarity. triangles that are similar have 2 pairs of congruent angles. To solve for the missing parts of a similar triangle you use statement of proportionality and similarity statement.
December 7, 2006 at 10:34 am
AA~ = angle angle similarity.
If 2 triagles have 2 pairs of congruent angles, then the triangles are smililar. They also have proportional sides.
I dont really get them and im not sure how to fins the third side.

Similar (~) triangles have CONGRUENT angles and PROPORTIONAL sides.
AA~ : Angle-Angle Similarity
Two triangle are similar if they have 2 pairs of congruent angles.
You would know when a triangle is similar if two triangles have congruent angles and proportional sides. To solve for the missing side, you will only use 2 proportions.

Similar triangles have congruent angles and proportional sides. Also when solving for two sides you only need to use two proportions. To tell if a triangle is similar is if they have 2 pairs of congruent angles. In order to solve you need to get a proportional statement then cross multiply.
December 7, 2006 at 6:19 pm
similar triangles have congruent angles and proportional sides, two triangles with two pairs of congruent angles are similar.Only use two proportions to find a missing side.
December 7, 2006 at 8:55 pm
The Similar Triangles are Angle-Angle Similarity. To tell that the triangles are similar they have two pairs of congruent angles. To solve for the missing parts of a similar triangle you use similarity statement and statement of proportionality. Only use two proportions to find the missing side.

Similar triangles are Angle-Angle Similarity. If 2 triangles have 2 pairs of congruent angles, then the triangles are similar. You can solve for the missing parts of a similar triangle by similarity statement proportions.
December 7, 2006 at 9:54 pm
Similar triangles are angle-angle similarity.
To show that the triangles are similar they have to have 2 pairs of congruent angles. To solve for the missing side use two proportions.
December 8, 2006 at 12:59 pm
Triangles are similar when they have congruent angles and porportional sides. Similare triangles also are angle-angle simularity. Two triangles are similar if two triangles have two pairs of congruent angles.
December 10, 2006 at 6:14 pm
similar triangles have the same angles but longer sides so what you have to do is if there combired split them up and combine sides and work out the problem.
December 12, 2006 at 4:59 pm
Angle-Angle-similarity
2 triangles must have 2 pairs of congruent angles
then solve for the missing part of the triangle
use similarity statements
this was pretty easy to understand
December 13, 2006 at 8:09 pm
similar triangles have congruent angles and proportional sides, two triangles with two pairs of congruent angles are similar.
*Only use two proportions to find a missing side.
December 13, 2006 at 9:17 pm
Similar triangles use AA which is Angle-Angle similarity. To see if they are similar you have to see if they have 2 pairs of congruent angles. To find the missing parts you use the similiarity statement and the statement of proportionality. You use 2 proportions to find the missing side.
December 14, 2006 at 12:28 pm
Similar triangles have congruent angles and proportional sides. Two triangles are similar if they have two pairs of congruent angles. You solve the missing parts of a similar triangle by using the s0tatement of proportionality. This is how you can figure out simnilar traingles.
